Hello, everyone! I’m Laura Anstey, the new Senior Client Manager at Cloud Rede. As I settle into my role, I thought it would be a great opportunity to share a bit about myself and my experiences during my first month at Cloud Rede.
When I’m not immersed in the world of client management, I’m a self-professed spirited maestro of chaos in the kitchen and I enjoy nothing more than whisking up a culinary masterpiece. I’m also navigating the thrilling maze of wedding planning, and I can confirm that the stress is real, but so is the excitement of saying ‘I do’ after ten years of anticipation!
Outside of work and wedding plans, I adore being outdoors, whether it’s strolling through the countryside, exploring miles of fields and woodlands, or caring for my three dogs and six chickens. My infectious energy and laughter always accompany me, much to the amusement of my friends and family, who often joke that they can hear me before they see me!
Now, let’s talk shop. My career journey has taken me through various landscapes, from large corporations to smaller start-ups, and everything in between, but I always find myself gravitating towards smaller businesses. Why? Because personally, I don’t want to just be another cog in a big machine. I like being in a small business as it feels like being part of a family. It may sound a bit corny, but that’s genuinely what it’s like. I’ve found this environment fosters loyalty and genuine enjoyment in coming to work, united in pursuit of common goals and values. I require purpose and satisfaction in my work life. It’s about more than just a job for me; it’s about feeling valued and fulfilled at the end of the day.
Enter Cloud Rede – a chance find after a period of job uncertainty. Within one hour of my initial meeting with Christian, our CEO, I knew I wanted to work for him, and the feeling was mutual. It was as if I’d known him for years, and he reminded me of smaller business leaders from my past whom I’d loved working with. Our values aligned, and our mutual approach to client management and sales sealed the deal for me!
As a Senior Client Manager with over 16 years of experience, my approach is simple: be myself! I reject the notion of “hunter/farmer” sales tactics and instead focus on consultative sales, prioritising client needs and solutions over aggressive targets. Understanding your clients thoroughly and proposing solutions that genuinely address their needs, thus enabling them to see a tangible return on investment, is what drives me.
At Cloud Rede, we don’t just sell services – we form partnerships with our clients. We genuinely care about their success and won’t recommend anything that isn’t right for them. I believe it’s this commitment to collaboration and integrity that sets us apart. It’s ingrained in our ethos, ensuring that client satisfaction remains top priority.
Cloud Rede has provided me with the opportunity to make a real impact, to grow both personally and professionally. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities, and I tackle them with the same enthusiasm and passion that my family and friends know me for!
If I could offer some parting advice, it would be this: seek out work environments, whether large or small, where your values align, where your contributions are recognised and where you can be surrounded by supportive and inspiring colleagues. After all, we spend a significant portion of our lives at work, so it’s important to make sure it’s somewhere you genuinely enjoy being. 😊
