Our team
Christian Bolton
Christian is both a Microsoft Certified Master for SQL Server and the first person outside Microsoft to achieve Microsoft Certified Architect, two of the highest technical certifications Microsoft has awarded for the platform. He spent his formative years at Microsoft before leading a 50-person SQL consultancy and authoring several books on SQL Server internals. He founded Cloud Rede in 2019 with a deliberate choice: depth over scale, and long-term relationships over volume.
Joe Pollock
With 25 years of hands-on SQL Server and Azure experience, Joe has built his career going deep on performance tuning and cost optimisation. A Microsoft Certified Trainer, Azure Database Administrator and AWS Solutions Architect, he has shared his expertise at conferences and SQL Server user groups across the country. At Cloud Rede he leads managed services delivery, bringing the same technical rigour to every client platform he touches.
Gemma Bolton
With over 20 years of experience in technical project management and marketing, Gemma has a passion for building high-performing teams that unite strategy with measurable impact.
As Head of Sales & Marketing, Gemma shapes how Cloud Rede connects with clients and the market. She brings clarity to sales processes, strengthens brand presence, and ensures campaigns deliver real business value.
James Homewood
After seven years in the British Army as an Electronic Warfare and Signals Intelligence Operator, James transitioned his skills into cloud technologies.
James is a skilled Cloud DBA, leveraging his expertise in Azure and AWS to optimise database performance and enhance cloud infrastructure.
Andreea Balauca
Andreea has a background in cloud infrastructure, system administration, and database management, with experience across Azure, Windows, and Linux environments.
She is passionate about continuous learning and proactive problem-solving, making her a strong addition to the Cloud Rede team. As a Cloud Engineer, Andreea plays a key role in supporting our Managed DBA and Cloud Services team, ensuring our customers’ platforms remain secure, efficient, and reliable.
Tom Huntley
Tom is an analytics-driven Cloud DBA who bridges the gap between data operations and insight delivery.
With experience across SQL Server, Azure, and Power BI and data engineering, he helps organisations modernise their data environments and build reporting solutions that turn data into action. As Senior Cloud DBA, Tom combines strong platform management with analytics enablement – ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and ready to support intelligent business decisions.
Nirvesh Mahadooa
Nirvesh holds an MSc in Computer Science and Cybersecurity and has experience working with SQL, Azure, Linux, and DevOps pipelines.
With a strong interest in coding and software development, he brings valuable technical skills to the team. As a Cloud Engineer at Cloud Rede, Nirvesh helps manage and optimise cloud environments, contributing to the security, performance, and reliability of our customers’ infrastructure.
